Abe Lincoln...

Hi fellow movie lovers.
How are you?

I saw Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter (Slayer?) I enjoyed it.
I like the actor who played Abe. He embodied Abe Lincoln, only
cuter. The story was exciting and focused on a completely new
vamp mythology, the Civil War.

How do the critics do it?...They see many movies a week. I see one
and can't find time to review. For example I've seen all of the
summer blockbusters, Avengers,Battleship,Rock of Ages, MIB3...
but have not been able to give my opinions on them.

I think part of the problem is I'm not as witty or succinct as I'd like. I always think in terms of Ebert or Sam( Bitches Gotta Eat) Sam is funny as hell(a bit long-winded, sometimes) I love her.
Ebert is Ebert!

I'm working on it.

Happy viewing

PS Abe did'nt fare well at the theaters, unfortunate since it really was entertaining. There's always life on DVD, right!?

Duck Dynasty

Hi.

Most of my family, friends and co-workers know how much I dislike "reality" shows. I  loathe them! Especially since they are so riff on the networks- Taking the place of quality, engaging  shows.

That being said,  Duck Dynasty has me hooked! I love the family dynamic of  this humorous and caring clan.

The sibling rivalry between the two brothers, Williie and Jase rings so true. Jase, the younger, always rattling Willie's chain-getting under his skin. Willie the "in charge"  keeping Jase in line while trying to manage and expand the business.

Uncle Sy is the Viet Nam vet. He is always throwing words of wisdom to anybody who will
listen.

The tone of the show is very warm and friendly-I feel like I would fit in at a dinner of
Miss Kay's jambalaya as well as a road trip with the guys.

Check it out...tell me what you think.

Talk to you later.

Snow White...

Hi!
I know I said I would review MIB but...Just saw "Snow White and the Huntsman" Not
sure why the industry was worried-a lot of beautiful stars, a good story and awesome
visual effects.

Charlize chewed the scenery masterfully. She was such fun to watch. She was beautiful,
evil and downright scary as the evil queen.

Some have said Kristen Stewart is the same in all her roles(there have only been two?)
but I think Snow required her to be quiet and a little emotionless. Twelve years locked
in a tower, away from everyone would have that affect.

What to say about Chris Hemsworth??? He continues to grow as an actor and the fact
that he's so fine doesn't hurt, either. I liked the "twist" in his relationship with Snow.

The special effects were brilliant-the Dark Forest was truly creepy and "Fairyland"(?)
made me want to live their-all sweetness and light.

I give this movie "three eyeballs"-a must see!
