Exotic Marigold

Hello.

Friday I saw "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" Loved it!
A group of seniors go to India to heal, reflect, atone and re-evaluate their lives.

I have always loved Judy Dench. In this movie she's a widow who falls for the
Bill Nighy character who is  married to an especially mean, selfish women.

Is there any role Tom Wilkenson can't excel ? He's subtle as the bottled up, gay
former judge who comes to India to find a lost love. He believes his life was ruined
when family/authorities came upon the young lovers. He has always regretted
not standing up for his love and has come back to find out how his life turned out.

It was refreshing to see Maggie Smith in a move other than Harry Potter. She's
perfect as the acid wit, bigot in need of a hip replacement and a reason to get
back to the joy in life, to feel useful and needed once more.

This movie was the perfect mixture of humor, pathos and fun. I highly recommend it.

I'll have a review of the new MIB soon.

Happy Monday

Good Morning, all.
Quick post. I saw two movies this week-end!
Battleship on Friday. I thought it was fun and very entertaining. The special affects reminded me of the
Matrix!
Rhianna's role was small-not a lot of dialogue.

I finally saw The Hunger Games! Loved it! Hard to get past the reasoning behind the "games"
Entertainment for the "HAVES'? Punishment for the "REBELLION'? 70 years ago!
I kept thinking why are'nt people rising up?! I guess it would be hard to rise up if you're trying to
figure out your next meal. I plan to read the books for more detail/depth.

Avengers  still going to be the movie to beat this summer.

Off to work. Talk to you soon

Hi All!

I have decided that this blog, Studio 2201, will be about my love of movies, music
and television.

I just watched and like the new VW Beetle commercial. I wonder if everyone
else is as into commercials as I?

I saw The Avengers  movie, twice. It was that good! I will probably see it again and
definitely add it to my dvd collection.
I thought each character was given the right amount of screen time. Iron man was
droll, as usual. I was  pleasantly surprised with Mark Ruffalo's performance as the
Hulk. Loved the understated humor.

Think I'll go work a crossword before bed.

Talk to you Soon.

Hi There!

It's hard to believe little more than a month ago I was soaking up the beautiful Hawaiian sunshine and sipping
mai-tais on the beach. Today it's cool and wet...quite a difference.
I've been giving some thought to what I want my test blog to be about? Any suggestions?

I'm going to give it some more thought.
